Q:  What is Tempered glass?
A:  Tempered glass is  glass that has been strengthened by heat treatment.  It is also known as safety glass because it breaks into small pieces rather than jagged shards. It is used in sliding glass doors, windows and table tops.

Q:  What is Annealed glass?
A:  Annealed glass  is non-tempered glass.  Annealed glass  breaks into jagged shards.

Q:  What is an IG unit?
A:  An IG or Insulated Glass unit is two panes of glass with a sealed space between them.

Q:  What is Low - E  glass?
A:  Low Emissivity glass is glass with a transparent metal coating which reflects light and heat to increase a window's insulating value.

Q:  What is Laminated glass?
A:  Laminated glass consists of two or more glass sheets with a layer of plastic film or resin sandwiched between them.  When laminated glass breaks, the plastic film holds the fragments together.

Q:  Why does glass have a green tint?
A:  The green tint occurs from the iron in the glass. The iron becomes an ingredient of the glass to act as a lubricant during manufacturing.

Q:  What colors of glass are available?
A:  Windows and doors are generally clear, bronze or grey with varying degrees of tint.  Designer glass comes in dozens of colors and textures with varying degrees of clarity.
